In 1975 Robyn Dufty first gazed on boulder opal. An immediate love and passion for this fabulous stone took her on an amazing journey to the shores of America and beyond. Her lifelong mission to bring this magnificent stone from its humble beginnings in the remote opal mines of Australia to adorn an opal 
loving public in America had begun.
Many years of dedicated work, travel in the US and in the opal fields, gem industry events, working with the finest and most creative jewelry designers has helped Robyn to become one of the most knowledgeable and well known figures in the opal industry today.
In 1999 Robyn joined with the venerable European firm of Emil Weis Opals to create an opal company in the United States that has no equal. The US opal marketing company DuftyWeis Opals was born. Mining in Australia and Mexico, sourcing opal from all over the world, shaping and polishing opals in our expert cutting facilities, stocking the most varied selection of opal in the world allows us to carry on the dream of sharing this beautiful stone … the opal … with you.
